Fingering Yarn: Romney Sock

Our first official sock yarn, designed for durability and softness.

Romney Sock yarn is composed of 75% grown-on-the-ranch Romney wool and 25% nylon. It is a breed-specific light fingering yarn that is accompanied by the gorgeous Romney lustre. Here, the long staple of the Romney wool has a slightly tighter twist with the worsted spun to create a reliably strong and soft yarn for warm comfortable dress socks. Projects requiring light fingering yarn, such as baby clothes & blankets, light sweaters & second layers, toques, mittens, and gloves, can all be made up using our Romney Sock yarn as well. Crocheting or weaving instead of knitting? Yes, yes!

This undyed yarn is a cool light grey with a gentle brown undertone that creates natural variations in colour. We suggest alternating hanks between the end of one and the beginning of another for a few rows each to avoid a patch effect in your garment.
